THE FOLLOWING WILL BE AMENDED AS MORE DETAILS ARE CONFIRMED.

Four helicopters of Ugandan Peoples' Defence Force on flight from Soroti to Eldoret. They were on the way to Somalia to aid African Union forces fighting Somali Islamist group al-Shabab insurgents.

The helicopters went missing while enroute to Laikipia base in Kenya after leaving Kisumu airport.

On flight to Mogadishu with scheduled refuelling in Kisumu, Nanyuki and Garissa.

Began at Soroti, refuelled in Kisumu, then onto Nanyuki before stopping at Garissa.

flight path took them from Soroti to Eldoret-Nanyuki-Garisa-Wajir-Baidoa

The reason for the crashes have not been disclosed.

AF-807 & AF-808 were two of the three Mi-24 helicopters that crashed - [which ones?]

After take-off, crashed into a building, caught fire, and caused traffic jam on road.
By 11 AM, fire extinguished.

Pilot ejected, and rescued.

Four civilians wounded.
Woman (26) seriously wounded.
Three others lightly wounded.

Initial reports claimed the aircraft was an helo.
