BEIJING (AP) — A state news agency says two Chinese air force jets crashed in a city suburb in Inner Mongolia after a midair collision.

Xinhua News Agency says the J-8 fighters collided during a training mission over the suburb of the regional capital Hohhot on Wednesday. It says both pilots ejected and parachuted to safety, suffering only minor injuries.

Xinhua says both planes crashed in inhabited areas, but gave no word on casualties. It says the planes were attached to the northern Shenyang Military District.

Chinese official Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday 25 June that two air force fighter jets crashed in northern China after colliding in mid-air. The two J-8II fighters collided during a training mission over Qingshuihe County in the suburbs of Hohhot, the capital city of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The incident took place at 8:50 a.m. local time on Wednesday 25 June. Both pilots were said to have ejected and parachuted to safety. The suffered from minor injuries and are being treated at local hospitals.

The two fighters belong to the Shenyang Military Region Air Force (MRAF) of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). One of the planes exploded in Wulipo, Jiucai Township, leaving only the tail intact. The other plane caught fire in a Village. Both crash sites have been sealed off.

Claims by Russian Military that they captured a pilot who ejected from a Georgian Su-25. On landing the pilot is said to to have broken both legs and suffered a damaged spine. They also inferred that the pilot was of "Arab" origin. (Source: "Osinform")

The pilot of the first Su-25 shot down is called L t. Col. Oleg Terebunskiy. He and his aircraft belonged to the 368 OShAP at Budennovsk airbase. He ejected safely.

During the war an other Su-24 from Lipetsk airbase was shot down, your website does not mention this loss. The pilots were Col. Oleg Storozhuk and Lt. Col. Vladimir Bogodukhov. They also ejected safely after they were shot dowm on 10th August 2008.

The pilot of the first Su-25 shot down is called L t. Col. Oleg Terebunskiy. He and his aircraft belonged to the 368 OShAP at Budennovsk airbase. He ejected safely.

During the war an other Su-24 from Lipetsk airbase was shot down, your website does not mention this loss. The pilots were Col. Oleg Storozhuk and Lt. Col. Vladimir Bogodukhov. They also ejected safely after they were shot dowm on 10th August 2008.
