BHAKKAR: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jet on training flight crashed near
Bhakkar on Tuesday whereas pilot of the plane ejected safely.
According to details, a PAF F-7 plane that takes off from Mianwali
Airbase was crashed near Sher Garh area of tehsil Mankera, Bhakkar at
1:40 PST. Pilot of the plane ejected safely. Fire brigade instantly
extinguished the fire erupted after crash. DCO Bhakkar and DPO Bhakkar
reached the incident site. Investigations of the incident underway.

Just after takeoff for a drug-eradication mission on the morning of Feb. 6, State Dept. OV-10D Larandia, Colombia, during VFR conditions. The pilot (name withheld here for security reasons) was seriously injured according to the NTSB report, while other sources have reported the injuries as minor scrapes and bruises. The Bronco was destroyed. Another aircraft that took off before the OV-10 reported that the pilot had power problems with the right engine, proceeded to dump most of the chemicals, and said he was unable to feather the propeller and that he couldn't maintain altitude. He elected to eject, and the airplane burned and shed parts during impact upon rough terrain. The right engine separated from the airframe and the main wreckage came to rest about 3,000 feet from the initial impact point. The preliminary NTSB report is at |

Technical Failure' While on Training Mission.
A pilot candidate died on Tuesday when he jumped using a parachute from his
plane which experienced a technical failure, according to the Jordanian
Armed Forces Spokesperson. The Pilot candidate was on a training
mission with his trainer in an air force plane when the plane experienced a
technical failure a few seconds after its take off while his trainer
survived after landing the plane safely.
