From
WynnePA@IMC7.EMS.LMCO.COM Mon Sep 22, 1997 I am interested in anyone who might have known Patrick E. Wynne from the 555th TFS. He was initially listed MIA August 8, 1966 and subsequently listed KIA on that date after many years. I am his younger brother and was 10 years old when Pat went down. I am looking for any background, photos, etc. that you might be interested in sharing with me. I am particularly interested in the tail number, markings, and co-pilot of the F-4 C he was flying when he went down. Thank you for a great web page. Peter A. Wynne at home e-mail biggulz@flash.net |

| FEEDBACK |
Quoting from "Vietnam Air Losses", "1Lt J R Casper must have been one of the luckiest pilots in the USAF. He had been shot down near Dong Hoi on 8 August and was plucked from the hands of the North Vietnamese by a USAF rescue helicopter. On 14 September he was attacking a road bridge near Bac Ninh, 15 miles NE of Hanoi, when his aircraft was hit at 6,000 feet by AAA. He flew over 80 miles to the east and ejected close to the island of Dao Cai Bau where he was rescued yet again, this time by a Navy chopper." I take personal interest in 1Lt Casper, since I was the flight leader of the Navy Skyraider rescue combat air patrol that found him, protected him from enemy boats and brought in the rescue helicopter. Regards,
|
