Two RAF Hunter F6 [XF425/H & XF502/K of 74 Sqn collided at 10,000ft at night when joining up to carry out unauthorized aerobatics. One pilot ejected safely but the other had not removed the safety pin from the firing handle on his seat and was killed when the aircraft (XF425) crashed near the River Yare, Buckenham, Norfolk. XF502 crashed into a wood at Langley.
