Royal Canadian Air Force 417 Sqn. Cold Lake

CF-104 Starfighter

104732

30th April 1982

Captain Dave Ghyselincks

I was in Alberta with 417 Squadron for a Fighter Weapons Instructors' Course (FWIC), but otherwise really belonged to 441 Squadron in Baden-Soellingen at the time of the ejection.

The airplane was in a Flat Spin with an aft  centre of gravity and would not recover. My knees were injured during the ejection but I was otherwise OK and flying again four days later.

Cheers,

Dave Ghyselincks
