Iran's Defense Minister, providing details on an announcement yesterday, said today that eight Iranian aircraft had destroyed a number of Soviet-built TU-22 long-range bombers and some long-range fighters at the Iraqi base of Haj Sen near the Jordanian border. He said the raid had been carried out to demonstrate that no part of Iraq was safe from Iran's air force.

Buried Iraqi Air Force Aircraft were discovered by US troops in Iraq

MiG-25 Foxbat interceptor buried beneath the sands in Iraq. Several MiG-25 and Su-25 ground attack jets have been found buried at al-Taqqadum airfield west of Baghdad.

Muzahim Sa'b Hassan al Tikriti, who headed Iraq's air defenses under Saddam Hussein, was captured by U.S. forces Wednesday, U.S. Central Command says.
