My name is KC Kuruvilla. I happened to see the site on ejections, the world over, and came upon my name in the lot listed under India. I am writing to let you know that I ejected for a third time in 1982 (I believe). All three ejections (of which two are reported on your site) were from the Sukhoi 7. I am not certain if there are any known pilots in India or elsewhere, who have ejected three times and have also gone on to fly more fighter missions, as I did; knowing fully well that in any one of those missions (600 sorties or more), a fourth ejection was a possibility. I hope you will be able to let me know. The knowledge would be self-satisfying and important for me. Credit must be given to some good decision makers amongst our Doctors of CME and the then IAM. Many functional level Doctors were determined to ground me or have me transfer to Transport/Helicopter flying stating that I would be crippled in a fourth ejection! Thankfully (to my maker), none of that happened and I continued to fly fighter aircraft. As a matter of fact, in 1991, I was able to convert onto the Jaguar, thanks to Air Headquarters and some gentlemen who deemed that I had the will and spirit to continue flying, regardless. I retired in 2001 as an Air Commodore, as the Deputy Commandant and Head of Capacity Building, where I flew the Kiran and the HPT 32. Warm regards KC |

I ejected twice while serving in the Indian Air Force and can provide accurate information for update about these two events. 22 Nov 1993 Jaguar JS-120 Flying Offr PK Pareek carried out planned ejection following double hydraulic services Failure and failure of landing gear to come down 12 Km North East of Ambala airfield. 26 Feb 1997 Jaguar JT- 066 Flt Lt PK Pareek and Flt Lt M Panging ejected at 200 feet following total electrical failure and engine flame out near Uttarlai airfield.
