Captain Bahram Haj Esfandiyari was an experienced helicopter pilot in the IRIAA having flown Cobra, CH-47 Chinook and Bell-212's. He had successfully passed his flying exams to become an F-4 fighter pilot a few days before the fatal helicopter crash in Najaf Abad-Isfahan. Investigations revealed that rear Rotor damage had caused the helicopter to crash. The helicopter became a blazing inferno fuelled by the 6000 lt. aviation gasoline and 600 lt. hydraulic-fluid. None of the crew survived.
