16 April 1986 a BAe Sea Harrier FRS1, . He was very much a member of the RN when he crashed the SHAR and had no ties to the RAN (other than by prior experience). I do not believe the aircraft was a BAe test bed either. I remember it as just a normal squadron aircraft. Andy was a member of 800 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) which was a part of the HMS Illustrious CAG. They were on board Ark Royal as reinforcements/guests during an extensive operational training period for 801 NAS (Ark Royal CAG's Fighter squadron). Very best regards, Dave
