| Police sources said that before the crash the pilot ejected himself from the plane but his parachute did not open and he fell on the ground and died. He had delayed ejecting to ensure that he was well away from a populated area when he left the aircraft. | ||||||||

On 17th May 1986 Air Commodore Abdul Hameed Qadri was on a routine western CAP over Parachinar near the Afghan border. Qadri and his wingman Sqn. Ldr. Mohammed Yousaf flying PAF F-16As intercepted four SU-22 aircraft. Quadri's missiles failed to launch yet he still managed to shoot two SU-22s with his guns. He was awarded the Sitara-i-Basalat. Imran Tariq was few months old at that time. April 2004, FLT LT Imran Tariq while flying an F-7 Crashed and died near Mianwali, his only daughter was only 6 months old.. x Very sad indeed...Begum Nasim Tariq did not re-married and taught in PAF School Sargodha and raised Imran Tariq and her only daughter. |
