Ground Level Ejection Tuesday 21st June 1983. Temporary Duty at Osan AB, S. Korea to participate in exercise Cope Jade 83. Captain Jay Burton experienced a hydraulic system malfunction which prevented extension of his left main gear. Captain Burton landed and attempted to engage the barrier/cable. Before engagement, the aircraft began to exit the runway at approximately 90 knots. At this point, Jay made the decision to eject using his ACES II ejection seat.
