Test of the Martin-Baker Mk. 10 ejection seat for
the CASA C-101
|
The CASA C‑101 is equipped with two Martin‑Baker Mk 10 ejection seats
which are qualified over the aircraft's full flight envelope, including
zero speed at ground level.
An
ejection control switch allows to chose either independent or sequential
ejection. In the latter case, the rear pilot can initiate the sequential
firing of both seats. Immediately after ejection, a stabilizing
parachute acts to slow down and steady the course of the seat unit. Once
the pilot separates from the seat, a personal parachute opens for
descent. When ejection is made, the emergency oxygen system is
automatically switched on to ensure a continuous oxygen supply.
A
detonating cord running around the full length of the canopy's edge can
be fired from inside either cockpit to shatter the canopy. In the event
of emergency ground rescue, it can be fired from either of the controls
located on each side of the fuselage

Air Force's Practice Group.
Different versions of the
C-101 are also operating with the air forces of Chile,
Honduras and Jordan
