1st Lieutenant Doyle Alexander Salley was killed, along with the rest of the crew, when the USAF B-52E Stratofortress from 11th Bombardment Wing crashed at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The aircraft was on a routine mission, aircraft made a GCA approach, requested climb to altitude for another jet penetration, problems with stabilizer trim during overshoot. Explosion 4 miles from the base and crashed late on Tuesday evening, 9th December 1958.
